Tasia Presber

Tasia is a CPHR Candidate and JD Candidate (2023) at the University of Saskatchewan College of Law and hopes to achieve her CPHR designation by the time she is called to the bar. Tasia takes a pragmatic approach to human resources by balancing the needs of the organization, the applicable labour and employment legislation and the overall effect on the workplace. Prior to law, she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources with Distinction and spent a semester abroad in Stuttgart, Germany. During her studies, Tasia was the human resources manager for a premier golf resort in northern Saskatchewan. She organized and led workshops with Trevor Maber and Steve Seiferling on Management Training and Respectful Workplace Training during her time as head of human resources. She has conducted many investigations and dealt with a number of issues including managing employees who live at the workplace and independent contractors. When she’s not in the office, Tasia is happy to be anywhere a plane will take her and hopes to visit 30 countries by age 30. She can also be found at the driving range trying to get her left-swing to make the right shot, and was once seen on stage performing stand-up comedy.

Trevor Maber

Trevor is an Associate Professor at the Edwards School of Business (University of Saskatchewan), with a focus in Human Resources. Trevor acts as a consultant on Human Resources.

Prior to working as a professor, Trevor has worked for the Saskatchewan Health Authority, and Saskatchewan Polytechnic, in senior leadership roles.

In addition to his faculty engagement with Edwards, he partners with leading Canadian and US-based consulting groups while entertaining speaking and conference engagements across North America and internationally, and is the COO with Pure Strategy Inc., (www.purestrategy.ai), a technology firm with presence in Toronto and Saskatoon focused on the application of AI and unsupervised machine learning to data analytics. Trevor has also been an active contributor and supporter within the TED community for over a decade as a TED workshop presenter and host, TEDx organizer and speaker, and TED-ED lesson designer and educator.

Steve Seiferling

Steve is a lawyer, lecturer, and gym co-owner. As a lawyer, he focuses on labour and employment work, and regularly works with Human Resources professionals, providing advice and guidance, in a number of areas. Steve has also worked as a workplace investigator, and has experience dealing with workplace issues of all kinds.

Outside of the legal workplace, Steve is a sessional lecturer at the Edwards School of Business. He teaches Labour Law and Occupational Health & Safety to Human Resources students.

In the infinite search for balance in life, Steve is also the co-owner of a CrossFit gym in Regina, SK - CrossFit Iron Society.

When he’s not busy with his job(s), Steve’s son Preston keeps him busy and active. Preston is proud to be teaching his dad parkour skills.

Irene Seiferling

Irene’s company, Board Dynamics, works in various governance areas, including governance consulting, director placement, strategic planning, and succession planning. Irene has worked with many businesses and organizations in Saskatchewan helping them meet their governance, leadership and succession objectives.
